Manual Lessons are at the Hourly rate of £35 Per hour. Automatic Lessons are £39 per hour.

New Pupils only & only open to those who have had no more than 10 hours previous driving tuition. Deal is NOT available to those pupils who have a practical test booked or who have taken a practical test before. Deal is NOT open to anyone who holds a licence in another country. Deal is NOT available with any other offer or discount. Only one ‘Try Us & See’ Deal per customer. After this block of lessons the lesson rate returns to the full rate.

£310 deal lessons are to be paid in advance & to be taken in 2 hour blocks. Automatic deal is £350.

Pre-paid lessons must be used within 6 months of purchase. After this time NO refunds will be given.

Lesson Cancellations

We operate a zero tolerance cancellation policy. If you need to cancel a lesson you must give at least 48 Hours notice. If you do not, you WILL be charged for that lesson. If your instructor arrives at the arranged pick up point and for what ever reason the lesson can not go ahead you WILL be charged for that lesson. This includes forgotten lesson, wrong time (as stated on your driver record),illness or over the drink drive limit.

Your instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson at short notice if they believe that you are under the influence of alcohol. You may be required to take a breath test. If you fail or refuse the lesson will not take place and you will be charged at the full lesson rate.
The instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson at short notice if it is suspected that the pupil may be unfit to drive due to the effects of drugs (prescribed or otherwise) or any other condition that would cause driving to be illegal. Lesson will be charged at full rate.

Your instructor reserves the right to postpone lessons in certain circumstances. These include last minute test bookings, dangerous weather conditions, mechanical breakdown and illness. In these circumstances any prepaid fees will be carried forward.

Lesson cancellations must be communicated directly between the pupil and instructor.

Driving Licence and Fitness to Drive

You must hold a current, valid driving licence. This can be either provisional, full or international and needs to be produced on your first training session.

You must be fit to drive with regard to legal and medical requirements.
Please make your instructor aware of any medical issues that may affect your driving.
You MUST inform your instructor and the DVLA of any changes to your health that could affect your driving.
You MUST declare to us any motoring convictions that you have on your driving licence.

Driving Tests

The instructor reserves the right to withdraw their car for tests without notice should the pupil prove not to be of a test standard. Your instructor will ensure that the vehicle supplied for test is fully road worthy and complies with all legal requirements for the test. Standard hourly rate applies on test day. (2 Hours).

Your instructor nor JHDS cannot be held responsible for test appointments cancelled or changed by the DVSA for any reason. You must regularly check your email folders, including junk or spam, for an email from the DVSA changing your test date. If this happens you need to immediately inform your instructor of any changes that have been made. If the DVSA change or cancel your test within our own 48 hour cancellation policy the lesson fee and ‘use of car’ fee for the booked period will be charged, unless it is due to bad weather.

Your instructor will advise you about claiming compensation from the DVSA.

If you book your own driving test you must show your instructor the booking confirmation. Your instructor or JHDS will not be held responsible for test appointments that cannot be covered where the instructors availability has not been checked before booking.

Lesson Payment

All lessons must be paid for 48 hours in advance and you must always be 2 hours in credit. You can pay by bank transfer, cash (direct to your instructor) or card. If you would like to pay by card then please visit our website and click on the ‘existing customer’ tab and this will take you to our Worldpay payment page. Here you can select how many hours you would like to pay for.

JHDS will not be held responsible for any lesson payments that are made direct to your instructor by bank transfer or in cash. JHDS will not be held responsible for any payment disputes that were not made via the official JHDS payment methods.

If Payment is not received either by bank transfer, cash or card payment 72 hours before your lesson, your instructor has the right to cancel your lesson without prior notice and offer that space to another customer.

Raffle Prizes

Any prize donated by John Harvey Driving School to be used as a raffle prize,

Cannot be used by any pupil currently having lessons with JHDS
Must be used by the expiry date on the voucher. Only 1 voucher can be used per customer. Vouchers have no cash value.

Any redistribution or reproduction of part or all of the contents in any form is prohibited.

You may not, except with our express written permission, distribute or commercially exploit the content. Nor may you transmit it or store it in any other website or other form of electronic retrieval system.

Franchise Agreement

John Harvey Driving School operates as a ‘franchise agreement’ with its Trainers. JHDS take all reasonable measures to ensure the quality of the Trainers working under the brand. After the initial booking, All future bookings are made as an agreement between the individual Trainer and the customer. JHDS take payments for their instructors for lessons via TYL by Natwest or Bank Transfer. Payment received by JHDS by customers is paid in full direct to the instructors on a weekly basis. JHDS does not keep any portion of pupils payments.

Refunds

Refunds will be made by agreement from the trainer to the customer.

In the event that pre-pay deals are not completed before you pass the practical test with us or need a refund for any other reason any used training time will be re-calculated at the normal lesson rate and the remainder refunded accordingly.

Complaints Procedure

Should you not be satisfied with the driving tuition that you receive, please contact john@johnharveydrivingschool.co.uk within 24 hours of your lesson.

I will endeavour to address the situation. Your complaint will be dealt with accordingly on an individual basis.
